<description>Intriguing, emotional script by the writer who wrote the excellent DOG BITE DOG. An all-star Hong Kong cast. Yet the results was a film empty of emotion, or tension. What went wrong? Slick, WAY too slick. It was supposed to be a TRAGIC DRAMA, yet looked and felt like a TV car commercial or a fashion shoot. Way too many slow-mo walking scenes, too many tricky camera angles, the MOST absurd car crash sequence outside of a Michael Bay movie, and actors treated as props, or cartoons. The most irritating aspect was the production design, which was way over the top and too color coordinated. The symbolism was too obvious and repetitious-- does the girl have to wear red ALL THE TIME? It drew attention to itself, and away from the story. The script had a lot of heart, and it deserved a more emotional approach. This is even more puzzling if you've seen the director's earlier film, FUBO, which was poignant and gritty.</description>
